The opening of the first house of the Congregation in African lands was carried out at the request of His Excellency Bishop of Bisssau Don Settimio Arturo Ferrazetta and took place on April 15, 1985 in Bissau, capital of Guinea-Bissau, West Africa, under the dedication of: “María Madre de la Iglesia”, said foundation was carried out during the government period of the former Superior General Imelda María Gallegos Gómez. The Sisters who founded this fraternity were: Esperanza Robles, from the Province of Cristo Rey; Odelina Orona, from the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Lorenza Rivera, from the Province of El Divino Salvador; These first sisters dedicated themselves to the care of sick children in the Pediatrics of the Simón Méndez Hospital. New missions were later opened in Banbadinca in 1992.
